starculture blog – overview
Stars are beautiful, inspire us to reach beyond and provide us with guidance. Huginn is one of two Odin’s ravens that fly over the world to gather information. It translates to “thought”.
About me and the purpose of this blog
If you ended up here, I’d like to think that the reason for that is that you, too, are interested in various spiritual topics and the ways they could enrich (or endanger) your life and the lives of those around you. Whether you are a non-believer or a devoted practitioner of any spirituality, there’s plenty to learn from discussing spirituality from either a skeptical point of view or a deeply faithful one.
In this blog, we’ll give a chance to both sides with the hope of enriching your daily life. In that regard, instead of dismissing one side or the other, we’ll focus on this archetypal relationship and build from there. By establishing a common ground from which we can learn, this blog is also an expression of myself.
And I am a graduate of cultural theory and sociology, with interests in history, the history of religions, psychoanalysis, philosophy, and internet culture in general. I started this blog for several reasons:
- To share what I know and to learn more. Especially nowadays, when the internet is full of misinformation, lies, hostility, and—most importantly—tailored content specifically “for you,” I want to provide an authentic place to encounter new or old ideas. Spirituality is also a peculiar topic where people can be easily manipulated or extremely dismissive. The aim of this blog is to provide the means and knowledge for people to decide for themselves.
- It’s also about having fun. Knowing more leads to seeing more and enjoying more; it opens up new paths and trivializes self-inflicted obstacles. Instead of rigidly holding onto your own position, spirituality can enrich mundane life just as it can highlight the common themes that make us human—regardless of gods, vibes, spirits, or planets. It’s about us, humanity.
- I will post items of interest to me and things I find relevant or fun to discuss. Additionally, I’ll suggest products for purchase to generate affiliate revenue. For me, it’s a learning process to understand how blogging works, but I will only suggest items that I have tried or would like to try. I don’t think these suggestions are dismissive toward spirituality—consciously engaging in something mundane with something profound in mind is just one way to develop our own (spiritual) interests.
Finally, I’d like any feedback from you! Any topic, questions, criticism or suggestion is welcomed. You can reach out via comments or on my email address:
